Showers Lake

The trail originates at Carson Pass (a few miles east of Kirkwood on highway 88). It is know for it's wild flower displays in late June and early July. The trail head is a few hundred yards west of the ranger station (on the opposite side of highway 88). There is ample parking at the trail head. The hike initially climbs over granite hills, then traverses a large meadow. There is little shade, so bring a hat and sun screen.
